Supermarket Bouquets

What I love about painting flowers is that they never die! That they will last longer than a week. A flower painting is certainly an investment, and better yet, it blooms all year round.
 
Supermarket Bouquets is a still life painting of a section of blooms. The prices vary. The flower arrangement and bouquets vary, but what stays the same, is the purpose, that these flowers could be for any occasion.
 
From a technical point, painting shinny and clear cellophane is very challenging. I deliberately kept to a minimal colour palette, of using colours that appeal to me; pinks, purples, greens and blues with a touch of gold.
